Join our practical and accessible online event, chaired by Dr Giles Yeo, of BBC2’s Trust Me I’m a Doctor, to find out how.  Our expert panel, including Sarah Bridle, Jason O'Rourke and Emma Garnett will respond to your questions and offer friendly advice and expert tips. 

Ahead of the event, we invite you to check out Cambridge Sustainable Food’s Eat for Our Future Climate Diet Pledge and try some of their suggestions for little changes to make a big difference.  We’d love to know how you get on, so please get in touch before the event via to share your successes (and failures) and ask questions in advance. 

You don’t have to have signed up to the Pledge to join the event; anyone curious about eating a more sustainable diet is welcome to attend. 

About the speakers and organisers

Chair: Dr Giles Yeo is an academic, author and TV presenter.  His most recent book is Why Calories Don’t Count, he is a presenter of BBC2's Trust Me I'm a Doctor, and Principal Research Associate at MRC Metabolic Diseases Unit and a Scientific Director of the Genomics/Transcriptomics Core at the University of Cambridge

Panellists: 

Dr Sarah Bridle, is a transdisciplinary researcher driven by the need to tackle climate change. Sarah's current research focuses on environmental and nutrition impacts of different dietary options, with the aim of driving changes in food production methods and portfolios to be healthy for people and planet. Sarah founded the Take a Bite out of Climate Change project. Sarah's book, Food and Climate Change - Without the Hot Air was published in 2020 by UIT Cambridge

Dr. Emma Garnett, is Prince of Wales Junior Research Fellow in Sustainable Consumption at the University of Cambridge. Emma researches which interventions work to reduce the environmental impact of diet. She is currently working with Sainsbury’s on measuring the sustainability of supermarket products, considering the impacts on climate change and land use. 

Dr Jason O’Rourke, Head of Washingborough Academy in Lincolnshire, co-founder of Taste-Ed and member of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on School Food.

Councillor Alex Collis is Cambridge City Council Executive Councillor for Open Spaces, Sustainable Food and Community Wellbeing previous to this she was FoodCycle’s Regional Manager for the East of England.
