About this event

How bad could climate change get? Could the worst-cases result in global catastrophe, or even long-term human extinction? Such questions have not been tackled by the research community thus far. In this panel a series of leading scientists will discuss what we know about the worst-case scenarios, what we don’t know and how we can study the catastrophic risks of climate change. 

About the organiser:

Luke is a Research Associate at the Centre for the Study of Existential Risk (CSER) at the University of Cambridge, and a Mackay Research with Darwin College and Cambridge Zero. His work has been covered by media outlets such as the New York Times, the BBC and the New Yorker. He holds a Doctorate in International Relations the Australian National University. Luke is writing a book on societal collapse and transformation to be published with Penguin in 2023.
